Description

Note 22 applies. The Government intends to negotiate a sole source purchase order with the Encodo division of Harris Corporation for modification of their "Vision" program management and scheduling system. This item is an integral part of the Broadcast Automation System (BAS) awared to Sony Corporation as a result of a competitive procurement. Encoda/Harris was a sub-contractor to Sony on that contract. It is a key part of the overall BAS system and is fully integrated with the traffic and automation systems. The Armed Forces Network (AFN) uses Vision to acquire, schedule, plan, and track programming that will air world-wide on AFN Television. The modifications required by this action must be performed by Encoda/Harris to ensure that all integrations and interdepencies of the BAS are not disturbed or changed in unintended ways. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, Encoda/Harris, under authority of FAR 6.301-1. Interested sources may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit a proposal. The NAICS for this acquisition is 334220.
