Description

The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) intends to issue a non-competitive modification to the existing purchase order number 263-MJ-507127 with The University of Alabama, 1530 3rd. Avenue S., Birmingham, AL., 35294. Through non-competitive procedures, The University of Alabama was issued a purchase order to provide statistical consultation and support for analysis of nonhuman primate aging data for the National Institute on Aging ( NIA). The work to be performed will serve the specific needs for data sets from the following studies: 2-deoxyglucose and the high salt diet study. The Statement Of Work for this requirement is as follows: The contractor shall continue to provide all labor, material, equipment, and facilities to perform statistical assessments on various projects related to NIA?s study entitled ?Assessment of Primate Aging: Effects of Caloric Modification?, a longitudinal study which began in 1987. Due to the complexity of the study, the contractor will be working with data from multiple age groups, different sexes, starting ages, drop-outs and omissions of data. The data will be both parametric and nonparametric in nature. Period of performance: Is extended through March 17, 2006. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 541990, Size Standard is $6.0M is applicable to this requirement. This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this requirement. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct future competitive procurements. Responses to this announcement, referencing synopsis number NHLBI-PS-2005-150-DDC may be submitted to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, Contracts Operations Branch, Procurement Section, Building RKL2, Room 6143, 6701 Rockledge Drive, Bethesda, Maryland 20892-7902, Attention Deborah Coulter, Purchasing Agent.
