Description
The Agency Of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration(SAMHSA), Center for Mental Health Services Prevention, (CMHS), through the Division of Acquisition Management (DAM), Program Support Center(PSC), plans to award a 12 month sole source contract using simplified acquisition procedures, to the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry,(AACAP), 3615 Wisconsin Ave., N.W., Washington, DC 20016. The anticipated date of award is August 30, 2005. The purpose of this program is designed to, heighten awareness of the opportunities in child and adolescent psychiatry. Provide hands-on clinical experience. Increase awareness of child and adolescent psychiatry as a discipline. Use role models, mentors, and contacts for medical students of under represented minorities. The program will also track previous trainees who have participated in this program since 1995 to determine what career path each trainee has chosen. If successful, the program?s final report will be instrumental in structuring CMHS acquisitions-grants or contracts-to help extend the program into future practical applications. The contractor shall be responsible for but not limited to the following tasks: The contractor shall submit a plan to recruit additional ethnic minority medical students into clinical careers in child and adolescent psychiatry. The contractor shall submit a list and r?sum?s of medical students who will participate in the minority fellowship program. The contractor shall submit resumes from all who participate. The contractor shall submit preliminary and final reports for the program. The Contractor shall perform the required services at the Contractor?s facilities. The proposed simplified acquisition is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source Under Authority of Far 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest by responding to the requirement within 10 days after the date of publication of this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed simplified acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation is available.
