- NASA/GRC has a requirement for 1 ea of the following items: Probe Station without stage which is compatible with and can use components of S6 probing, Vibration isolation table, Castors for vibrtion isolation table, seiwa microscope with par-centering turnet, New Wave Research micromachining,and mounting/integration of new ware micromachining system stage to 355 PMprobable Part No SPP20050718. NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from Micromanipulator Co., Inc. of Carson City NV. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), only one responsible source and no other suplies or services will satisfy agency requirement. This Probe system is required to be fully compatible with existing government-owned equipment. Specifically the system is uniquely compatible with a triaxial thermal chuck that is is OEM proprietary . This is a specially designed high temperature thermal chuck with government-required unique "low-electrical-noise" capabilities. Te probe holders previously purchase are also required to be fully compatible with this system, Specifically, the manipultors feature the same mounting hardware and the probe holder length and geometry is designed and guaranteed to be compatible with this system. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on August 23, 2005. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
