Description

The Army intends to award one Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Contract for Construction and Services for the United States Army at Kwajalein Atoll/Reagan Test Site (USAKA/RTS). A justification and approval citing 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1) i n accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1 permitting only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, has been approved. Work under the proposed IDIQ contract will consist of design, mino r construction, maintenance, repair, alteration, modernization, rehabilitation and services for buildings, structures, or other real property. The proposed sole source contractor, San Juan Construction, Inc., is the only contractor on the island of Kwajal ein at this time other than a cost reimbursement installation support contractor. San Juan Construction, Inc. is currently mobilized and in the process of constructing the FY04 MCA PN50845, Vehicle Paint and Prep Shop, Kwajalein. USAKA is a very isolated U.S. Army installation located approximately 2,100 miles southwest of Hawaii and approximately 4,200 miles southwest of the west coast of the U.S. The IDIQ contract will consist of a one-year base period with four option years. The total capacity for th is IDIQ contract will not exceed $10,000,000.00. The Government requests that any interested contractors respond by September 24, 2005. See Note 22.
