Description

PLEASE SEE ITEMS 8 AND 9 OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT FOR CORRECT POINTS OF CONTACT. THIS PROJECT IS ADVERTISED ON AN UNRESTRICTED BASIS PURSUANT TO THE SMALL BUSINESS COMPETITIVE DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM. THE NORTH AMERICAN INDUSTRY CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (NA ICS) CODE FOR THIS PROJECT IS 237990. In general, work is as follows: Rental of cutterhead pipeline dredge with attendant plant and operators, for maintenance dredging in navigation channels in Coastal Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida. This work consis ts of removal and satisfactory disposal of material from navigation channels. Excavated material will be transported and deposited primarily into upland and open water sites. The dredge should be a large Cutterhead pipeline dredge with 17-inch to 30-inch diameter discharge, along with long pipeline lengths and attendant plant, including all necessary materials, supplies, labor and transportation. NOTES: 1. Bidders, subcontractors and Dodge/Plan Rooms are required to self-register their firm or office on the Internet. Registration instructions are available on the Internet at http://www.sam.usace.army.mil/sam/ct. Neither telephonic, mailed, nor fax requests will be accepted. Those registering are responsible for the accuracy of the information on the mailing list. Registration must include the firms physical address, valid telephone and fax numbers, and a point of contact for overnight delivery, if necessary. Registration should be completed one week prior to the issue date. 2. All notifications of changes to this solicitation shall be made through the Internet only. It is therefore the contractors responsibility to check the Internet address listed above daily, for any posted changes to this solicitation. Actual solicitati on amendments will be issued either by fax, 3.5 inch diskette or CD-ROM. 3. The plans and specifications will be issued on the internet only. Plans and specifications will not be provided din a printed paper format; however, the Government reserves the right to revert to paper medium when it is determined to be in the Govern ments best interest. 4. All bid forms, bid bonds, and other normal documents required for the bid submittal, including amendments to the bid submittal, shall be in paper medium. Electronic medium for the bid submittal documents will not be allowed. 5. Critical Path Method (Network Analysis System) is not required. 6. For this job, a small business is defined as having average annual receipts of less than $17,000,000.00 for the past three years. 7.
