Description
NOTE: PREVIOUS SOLICITATION NO. 362575-04-A-0053 WAS CANCELLED. THIS IS A READVERTISEMENT TO RENOVATE EXISTING BUILDING FOR A CARRIER ANNEX IN PAOLI, PENNSYLVANIA. The work involves furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary to complete the renovations and site work construction for a carrier annex facility, including all incidental work, in accordance with USPS approved plans and specifications. The USPS-owned site is located at 35 Industrial Boulevard in Paoli, Pennsylvania. The work shall consist of selective demolition and reconstruction to convert an existing 35,300 s.f. one-story, steel-framed building into a Carrier Annex. The facility will include 23,215 s.f. being renovated into a Carrier Annex and the remainder being renovated into indoor parking for carrier vehicles. The work includes construction of platforms and ramps, overhead door replacement, dock equipment, interior partitions, doors, impact doors, flooring, painting, general interior upgrades; and improvements to the existing site. These include grading, paving, sidewalks, fencing, storm water piping, landscaping, clearing and grubbing. The estimated cost of the project is between $1,800,000 and $2,700,000 with construction completion within 180 calendar days from receipt of notice to proceed. The Postal Service encourages the participation of small, minority, and women-owned business subcontractors for this project. A PRE-PROPOSAL MEETING WILL BE HELD AT THE SITE, 35 INDUSTRIAL BOULEVARD IN PAOLI, ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 23, 2005, AT 1:00 P.M. THIS REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL IS BEING ISSUED TO PREVIOUSLY PRE-QUALIFIED CONTRACTORS ONLY. THE PRE-QUALIFIED FIRMS ARE THE ONLY FIRMS INVITED TO SUBMIT PROPOSALS FOR THIS SOLICITATION. The solicitation will be furnished to the above-named pre-qualified firms on or around August 15, 2005. ALL QUESTIONS CONCERNING THE SOLICITATION MUST BE SENT TO THE POSTAL SERVICE THROUGH ONE OF THE PRE-QUALIFIED FIRMS NAMED ABOVE. PRE-QUALIFIED FIRMS MUST SUBMIT QUESTIONS TO THE POSTAL SERVICE BY SEPTEMBER 6, 2005. There will be no public opening of offers. All proposal information received is CONFIDENTIAL until award of a contract. Upon award, the name of the successful offeror and the amount of the contract will be released as public information.
