Description

NOAA, NMFS, Northwest Fisheries Science Center intends to award a purchase order to Oregon State University, Department of Fisheries and Wildlife in Corvallis, OR for consulting and expert data assembly, analysis and reduction for assembling a sediment budget for streams of the John Day basin. Work to include: estimating the proportion of the channel network with excess fine sediments, estimate the relationship between an incidence of excess fine sediments in the channel network and measures of human related disturbance, etc. Period of performance 09/01/2005-09/30/2007. NOAA intends to award this contract on a sole source basis with Oregon State University, Department of Fisheries and Wildlife. Because of its expert knowledge of channel morphology, sediment transport and the geomorphic processes and anthropogenic activities that deliver sediment to streams. OSU also requires familiarity with the sources of field and remotely-sensed data in the John Day River basin. OSU?s Dept of Fish & Wildlife along with their in-kind collaborators at the US EPS?s ORD/NHEERL/WED laboratory in Corvallis have been key innovators in this work for the past 15 years. Therefore it is in the government?s opinion that Oregon State University, Department of Fisheries and Wildlife is the only responsible source. All responsible parties may submit a bid or proposal to this office. This is a Simplified Acquisition estimated not to exceed the Simplified Acquisition Threshold.
