- The Bureau of Reclamation, Lower Colorado Region, Hoover Dam, has a requirement for the manufacture of a dock. Dock exterior dimensions will be 120 feet long by 39 feet wide, with a walkway formed around the perimeter, down the center of the length of the dock and down the center of the width of the dock. All walkways will be 3 feet wide, except for the walkway that bisects the length, which will be 4 feet wide. This will result with 4 enclosures that measure 15 feet by 55 feet. See drawing attached to Request for Quote for clarification of dimensions and orientation. Exterior overall dimensions may vary by 5% but enclosure dimensions must be 15 feet by 55 feet. These enclosures will be for fish rearing. The constructed dock shall be buoyant enough to hold a minimum of 1,500 pounds weight distributed over the entire structure. Dock shall include all fasteners necessary for attachment by means of chains or cables to concrete blocks on the river bottom. The depth of the river varies from 9 to 15 feet where dock will be deployed. The current in the river where the dock will be located is very slow and the bottom is sand over rock. Waves are 2 feet or less in the area. Exterior of all floatation materials shall be of high-density polyethylene or similar material to prevent deterioration by animals, ultraviolet rays and corrosion. All connectors shall be stainless steel, polyethylene or similar material to prevent rust. All traffic areas shall have an anti-skid surface. Gray or white are preferred colors of high-density polyethylene floats. An itemized list including all shipping costs and any off loading fees shall be included. Dock shall be delivered to Fish and Wildlife Service, Willow Beach National Fish Hatchery, HC 37, Box 17, 25804 North Willow Beach Road, Willow Beach, Arizona 86445. This requirement is being procured under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is set-aside for small businesses. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) code is 333220 . The size standard is 500 employees. Effective October 1, 2003, prospective vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Register (CCR) prior to the award of a contract. You may register by going to www.ccr.gov. You will need your Dun & Bradstreet number and banking information. It is anticipated that a Request for Quote (RFQ) will be issued on or about August 11, 2005, and awarded on or about August 18, 2005; however, all dates in this announcement are subject to change. The RFQ will be issued via www.fedbizopps.gov. A Request for Quote is being issued to facilitate submittal of quotes through electronic commerce, and to view all applicable clauses and attachments.
