Description
Canyonlands National Park, Island in the Sky (ISKY) district, requires a 30,000 gallon underground storage tank for culinary use and as potential fire suppression. The water for the facilities is hauled to the tank from Moab. The tank supplier shall meet the following requirements. STORAGE TANK REQUIREMENTS: 30,000 gallon capacity, 12' diameter by approximately 37'; designed for use as potable water and fire suppression storage; designed to be fully buried with approximately 3' of fill material over the top of tank; meets NSF 61 standard for tank interior coating or lining; fiberglass; provide lifting lugs with adequate capacity to safely lift empty tank into place; specifications to include Manway inspection port with interior access ladder, 2" fill connection, 4" outlet connection and 2" overfill connection; ports location shall be based on attached drawing. Provide shop drawings for approval prior to fabrication. All ports shall be fitted with standard pipe threads. Provide the following ports: a 4" discharge port at bottom of tank, a 4" port for venting on top of tank, a 4" overflow port at top of tank, a 3" fill port at top of tank, and a port for the water level gauge - sized to match gauge provided. Provide a 30" diameter lockable manway with shoe box lid. The manway shall extend a minimum of 4.5' from the top of tank to allow for 36" burial and 18" minimum clearance above grade. The connection between the tank and the manway shall be water tight. Accessories: Water level gauge - float actuated, requiring no electric power. Reads approximate depth of tank (12'), with all fittings and parts for complete assembly (except stand pipe); Inverted four inch PVC vent head - with #14 stainless steel insect screen; Flex fitting for 4" bottom discharge connection to PVC piping. DELIVERY: The tank shall be delivered to Canyonlands National Park, Island in the Sky district. Canyonlands is located near Moab, Utah.
