Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with the additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division at Pt Mugu, CA intends to procure on an other than full and open competition basis the following items: This Specification establishes the design, development, documentation, fabrication and testing requirements of the I Band Magnetron. The I Band Magnetron shall be a direct replacement for the SFD-349. The contractor may substitute a completely refurbished magnetron with a new cathode if desired. All magnetrons shall have a 1000 hour MTBF. Requirements: Electrical Specifications Frequency of Operation (tunable), 8.5 to 9.6 GHz, Peak Pulse power output, minimum 220 Kw, Average power output 200 W, Peak Anode Voltage 22-24 Kv, Voltage rate of rise, maximum 120 kv/microsecs, Peak anode current 24 A, Average anode current 24 mA, Pulse width 0.2 to 0.8 microsecs, Duty cycle, minimum .001, Filament Voltage 13.75 V, Filament Current 3.1 A, Warm-up-time 180 seconds, Side Lobe Ratio 12 dB, Load VSWR, Maximum 1.5:1, Cooling Forced-air cooling Mechanical Specifications RF launch type Waveguide, mates with modified UG-52/U flange (WR-112), Cathode connector (Mates with) Jettron 90-006, Weight, nominal 13.5 lb/6.12 kg, Mounting position Any, Tuning, Dial knob or gearbox, 115 turns, nominal, Length of magnets 7.6 in, maximum. Data Deliverables: Each magnetron shall have test data reflecting the performance of all dependent and independent parameters. Data shall indicate absolute anode voltage and current corresponding to peak output power. Any firms believing that they can provide the Magnetrons according to specifications may submit a written response to be received at the Contracting Office no later than 20 days after the date of publication of this notice. It must clearly show the firm's ability to be responsive without compromising the quality, accuracy or reliability of the data without causing programmatic hardship.
