Description
This synopsis is being posted in the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website located at http://www.eps.gov. This notice does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) and the Government is not committed or obligated to pay for any information submitted in response to this notice, and no basis for claim shall arise as a result of this notice or contractor response to this notice. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport will hold an Industry Day August 24, 2005 to present and discuss the Magnesium - Semi-Fuel Cell (SFC) as an energetic electrochemical system for low rate, long endurance undersea vehicle applications. This electrochemical system consists of cartridges fabricated of bipolar electrodes; the bipolar electrodes contain a magnesium anode on one side, and a palladium / iridium cathode on the back side. The bipolar electrodes are separated by a conductive membrane separating the sodium chloride anolyte from the sodium chloride, acid, hydrogen peroxide catholyte. To brief interested parties NUWC will host this Industry Day, August 24, 2005 at its Chafee Auditorium, Building 1346. Registration will start at 8:30AM and the presentations will begin at 9:00AM and end at approximately 12:00PM. The agenda will include the Mg-SFC program overview, requirements, and will end with technology discussions. Questions regarding this Industry Day shall be directed to Maria Medeiros, (medeirosmg@npt.nuwc.navy.mil), 401-832-2454. The Government shall not reimburse the respondent for any costs associated with the information submitted in response to this request. Attendees must register and submit their security information by August 19, 2005.
