- Description
- The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City (NSWC PC) intends to solicit competitive proposals for MK-105 MOD 4 Magnetic Minesweeping System tow cables. The major components being acquired are as follows: Two full length terminated tow cables; One ten-foot terminated tow cable; Two six-foot non-terminated cable samples; Six jacket material samples to be used for tensile and elongation testing; One complete drawing package with cable repair procedures and all other requirements contained in the Government provided specification. The magnetic minesweeping tow cable assembly shall consist of a 450-foot combination fuel, electrical, and mechanical tow cable. The tow cable must be reversible in every aspect. The tow cable must be able to mount into the MH-53E tow boom, and attach to the MK-105 MOD 4 tow bridle with functional electrical, fuel and mechanical connections, during minesweeping missions. The terminations must be designed to function properly during all as! pects of the MK-105 MOD 4 missions. The entire tow cable assembly must be waterproof to 300 psi. with termination end caps installed. It is understood that without the termination caps installed, water will enter through the fuel connectors, but no other areas of the tow cable. The tow cable shall have the following properties: Length: 450 feet +5/-0 feet. Diameter and weight: The outer diameter is not to exceed 2.25 inches, with the exception of the terminations. The weight of the complete cable must not exceed 1200 pounds (Assuming empty fuel hose). Minimum breaking strength: 45,000 pounds. Fuel component: Minimum burst pressure is 1200 psi. Working pressure is 300 psi. Minimum inside overall diameter is .5 inches. The fuel hose must be compatible with diesel, JP-4, and JP-5 fuels. Fuel hose components cannot collapse during operation or storage. Conductor resistance: Typical resistance of twenty, 20 AWG copper wires. Not to exceed 15 ohms/1000 feet. Conductor Voltage Rating: The voltage rating of the conductors shall be a minimum of 300 volts. Outer Jacket resistance: A minimum volume resistivity of 1 x 1014 ohm-cm. A technical proposal is required; award will be on a best value basis . NOTE: THIS NOTICE MAY HAVE POSTED ON WWW.FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (12-MAY-2005).
