Description
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Office of the Director (OD), Office of Research Facilities (ORF), Bethesda, Maryland intends to make a single award for services for facility maintenance and repair at NIH buildings and its supporting facilities, which includes Poolesville. This is a new requirement. The Contractor shall provide all resources, including management, supervision, labor, materials, tools, and equipment (except as may be expressly stated in this contract as made available by the Government) necessary to provide the required services. This is an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. Work shall be identified under individual task orders issued by the Contracting Officer. Task orders under this contract may be performed at any of the following NIH facilities: NIH Main Campus, Bethesda, Maryland (306 acres, 60 building, over 5.5 million square feet of space). NIH Animal Center, Poolesville, Maryland (500 acres, 188,000 square feet of space), thirty miles one-way from NIH Main Campus. Rental facilities in Bethesda and Rockville, Maryland, five miles one-way from NIH Main Campus. Various locations in Washington D.C., ten miles one-way from the NIH Main Campus. The award will be made to the responsible business who submits the most advantageous proposal to the Government. The contractor shall be required to provide a local telephone number where a contractor representative can be reached by NIH for any purpose in connection with ongoing work, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in case of emergencies. The contract period is expected to be for a 12-month base period and three 12-month option periods. The solicitation will be available on or about August 24, 2005 and will be distributed via Federal Express mailings. All contractors doing business with the Federal Government shall be registered in the Online Representations and Certifications Applications (ORCA). Please refer to http://orca.bpn.gov/ in order to register. Also, all contractors shall be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database.
