Description

The purpose of this amendment is to provide an answer to a question in response to the RFQ. Q.1. Are there specific EPA methods that will be followed? We need this information to ensure that we include all items necessary for the method (i.e. correct sparge vessel and type of autosampler.) A.1. The EPA methods that the Contractor shall follow are EPA methods 502.1 (Volatile Halogenated Organic Compounds in Water by Purge and Trap Gas Chromatography), 503.1 (Volatile Aromatic and Unsaturated Organic Compounds in Water by Purge and Trap Gas Chromatography), 524.2 rev. 3.0 and rev. 4.0 (Measurement of Purgeable Organic Compounds in Water by Capillary Column Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry). The Contractor shall also follow the ASTM method D5790 (Measurement of Purgeable Organic Compounds in Water by Capillary Column Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry). NIST will apply this to some chlorinated and phosphorus containing pesticides, if they are appropriately volatile.
