- The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Health Inspections Service (APHIS), and Plant Protection & Quarantine (PPQ), Otic Methods Dev. Center, Building 1398, Otis Angb, MA 02542-5008, has a requirement for one (1) ea #SR-24A OR EQUAL steam, gravity air removal sterilizer. (i) THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation: quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. (ii) The solicitation number is APPQPMMA-0110-5 and the solicitation is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). (iii) The provisions and clauses incorporated into this solicitation document are those in effect at the time of publication. Provisions and clauses incorporated by reference have the same force and effect as if they were given in full text. The full text of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Agriculture Federal Acquisition Regulations supplement (AGARs) can be accessed on the Internet at http://www.arnet.gov/far and http://www.usda.gov/procurement/policy/agar.html. (iv) This solicitation is a small business set-aside. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 339113, business size standard for this code is 500 employees. (v) (vi) This requirement consists of 1 line item to purchase #SR-24A OR EQUAL; 24"X24"X36", Direct Steam Heated, Gravity Air Removal Sterilizer. Price is installed pricing. Sterilizer shall meet or exceed the following minimum specs: 1) Pass-though (2-door) steam sterilizer (autoclave). 2) Minimum chamber size: 21h X 21w X 36 inches. 3) Configured for connection to house steam. 4) Gravity air removal. 5) Operating cycles for liquids and dry items. 6) Compliance with ASME code for pressure vessels. 7) Double door alarm or other safety feature to avoid both doors being opened simultaneously. 8) Pressure door locks. ? Ten year warranty or better on pressure chamber. ? One year parts and labor warranty. ? References ? see below under evaluation factors. It is anticipated that a firm-fixed price contract will be awarded. The Government intends to issue a single solicitation and make a single award to one offeror. Simplified procurement procedures will be used as well as commercial item acquisition regulations per FAR 12.
