Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Chief Information Officer, through the NIST Acquisition Management Division, has a requirement for 2,000 new users (an add-on to an existing site license) and unlimited technical support for Eudora email client including any/all updates and upgrades for one year. NIST intends to award a sole source simplified acquisition to Qualcomm Incorporated, San Diego, CA 92121, under the authority of FAR Part 13.106-1(b), as Eudora is a registered trademark of the University of Illinois Board of Trustees, licensed to Qualcomm Incorporated. Only Qualcomm provides Site License Maintenance packages for the Eudora email client. The purpose of this simplified acquisition is to procure an Eudora site license for 2,000 additional users. The Government intends to acquire this commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested concerns may identify their interest and submit a capability statement that demonstrates in a written narrative format detailed information addressing their ability to meet the requirement and objectives as described in this synopsis. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation document is available; therefore, requests for such a document will be considered invalid responses. A determiniation to compete this proposed requirement is solely within the descretion of the Government. If no affirmative responses are received by August 19 at 3:30pm EST, the Contracting Officer will proceed with the award to Qualcomm Incorporated.
