- Description
- The proposed action is for the purchase of equipment for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Department of Energy (DOE), National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) intends to procure hardward for existing safety systems at the two National Energy Technology Laboratory facilities. The hardward is being procured on a sole source basis through Siemens Energy and Automation. The National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) has implemented safety systems for this facility based on the equipment of Siemens Energy and Automation. Infrastructure, capabilities and interchangeability of this specific system is a site standard. Existing communication protocols of the Siemens/Moore APACs (ACM-based) control system, and its hardware must interface with the existing programmable controllers (also manufactured by Siemens Energy and Automation). Please note, this is NOT a Request for Proposals (RFP) and NO competitive solicitation will be issued as a result of this notice.
