Description

The Federal Highway Administration, Western Federal Lands Highway Division is seeking sources for Geotechnical drilling services in Yellowstone National Park, Park County, Wyoming. Solicitation number DTFH70-05-Q-0040 is a Request For Quotation prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Part 12, the acquisition of commercial items in conjunction with the policies and procedures for solicitation evaluation and award as prescribed in FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This solicitation will be 100% set-a-side for small business. All firms responding must be registered in Central Contractor Registration (CCR) http://www.ccr.gov for award. The drilling equipment must be capable of drilling with 8 1/4th inch hollow stem augers to a depth of 80 feet in medium dense soils. The drill must also be capable of coring with a HW casing advancer system and with HQ3 wire-line core drilling to depth of 120 feet in medium hard, closely fractured rock The drill must be able to break down into component parts have the parts transported by helicopter and/or crane then reassembled on rough uneven ground. The helicopter will be used to access 2 borings in the Obsidian Cliff area. The North American Industry Classification System Code is 213111; the small business size standard is 500 employees. The projected start date for this project is September 20, 2005. The estimated price range is >$25,000 >$100,000. The Request For Quotation packet will be available 8-24-2005.
