- Description
- This project consists of providing all materials, equipment and labor required for the installation of a stand alone fire pumping station and replacement of water piping and valves located at the Facility 3038, Primary Pumping Station, Arnold AFB, Tennessee as described below. The work consists of all required equipment and materials to completely install a new fire pumping system as shown on the drawings. The fire pumping station shall consist of all pumps, piping, and controls. The fire pumping station shall be completely installed and tested before any of the remaining work is begun. The work also consists of the demolition of a 36-inch diameter coupling, a 36- to 24-inch diameter reducer, a 24-inch diameter gate valve, a 24-inch diameter cone valve, connecting hydraulic piping, connecting electrical supply and connecting control systems for each of six pumping systems. The work consists of providing a 36- to 24-inch diameter reducer, two 24-inch diameter butterfly valves, a 24- inch diameter coupling, a 24-inch diameter cone valve, connecting hydraulic piping with valves, connecting electrical supply and connecting control systems for each of six pumping systems. The new cone valves are expected weigh approximately 8000 pounds each. The valves and piping are located in a confined space in the basement that is only accessible through a hatch cover above each cone valve. The cone valve concrete footings shall be modified or replaced as required to maintain structural integrity and to fit modified footprints. Piping shall be carbon steel and shall require ASME B31.3 and ASME B+PVC Sec IX execution. Work is to be done at Arnold Air Force Base, Tennessee.
