Description

Maintenance dredging of unclassified material in the Charleston Harbor Entrance Channel and the Georgetown Harbor Entrance Channel, Charleston and Georgetown Counties, South Carolina. Estimated quantity to be dredged is approximately 1,515,000 cubic yards in Charleston Harbor and 389,000 cubic yards in Georgetown Harbor. Dredge material shall be transported to and dumped within the EPA-Approved Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site (OMDS). The work also includes a disposal area report and compliance with the Endangered Species Act and the Marine Mammals Protection Act. The contractor will commence work within 30 days of Notice to Proceed and complete performance by 31 March 2006. Multiple awards are anticipated based upon the lowest price bid for t he Charleston and Georgetown entrance channels. Competition for this solicitation is unrestricted. The NAICS code is 237990 with a size standard of $17.0M. Additionally, to be considered a small business, the firm must perform at least 40% of the volume of dredging with its own equipment or equipment owned by another small dredging concern. The magnitude of the work is $5M - $10M. Contractor must be registered in the DOD Central Contractor Registration prior to award of this solicitation. The solicitat ion and any subsequent amendments will only be available in electronic format, downloadable from the internet. No CD-ROMs or hardcopy documents will be distributed. Bidders must register on the website below in order to view or download the solicitation documents. It is the responsibility of the bidders to monitor the website for notices and amendments. In the event current fiscal year funding does not become available, the requirement will be funded with next year's funds contingent upon appropriation by Congress. The approving authority certifies that the requirement ha s a high enough priority to ensure that it will not likely be cancelled. No award will be made until funds become available. The solicitation will be posted on or about 8 Sep 05 with bids due on or about 11 Oct 05.
