- Description
- NAICS Code: 611710 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Office of Radiation and Indoor Air (ORIA), Indoor Environments Division (IED), intends to award up to three firm-fixed-price purchase orders using Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, for the development of a teaching tool to instruct primary students in developing countries about indoor air pollution from household energy use. Part of IED's mission is to identify and demonstrate effective approaches for increasing the use of clean, reliable, affordable, efficient, and safe home cooking and heating practices to reduce exposure to indoor air pollution through its involvement with the Partnership for Clean Indoor Air launched at the World Summit for Sustainable Development in September 2002. Under this order, the Contractor will develop an appropriate teaching tool (e.g., a curriculum or modules to support a curriculum that is currently in place) as well as an implementation plan that demonstrates the impacts of traditional household energy practices (i.e., cooking and heating) on families' health and livelihoods. The estimated level of effort for this requirement is approximately 600 hours and the estimated period of performance is from the award date through May 31, 2006. The Request for Quotes (RFQ) including the Statement of Work, evaluation factors, and quote submission instructions, will be available on or about August 30, 2005 at the following website: http://www.epa.gov/oamhpod1/admin_placement/0500342/index.htm. It is the responsibility of interested parties to download the RFQ and related documents from the aforementioned website and to regularly monitor it for any updates to the RFQ. Should difficulties be encountered while downloading the documents, contact the Contract Specialist to arrange alternative means of delivery. All questions should be directed to Jami Rodgers via e-mail at rodgers.jami@epa.gov.
