Description
The U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) Office of Research and Development, National Environmental Research Laboratory, Ecosystems Research Division (ORD/NERL/ERD) is soliciting quotations for two thermal cyclers using Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Commercial Items and Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The needed thermal cycler needs to have the capacity to run 96 well plates and have interchangeable sample blocks that will allow to run a variety of sample amounts such as two 48 well plates up to a 384 well plate block, microarray, biochip, or flat bottom vessel blocks, by changing blocks if necessary. It should be able to store up multiple methods and be able to display the temperature and temperature ramps as it analyzes the sample. It should be able to run each block independently when fitted with more than one block, allowing to run two different protocols simultaneously in one bay. It must be able to be upgraded to real-time fluorescence detection by retrofitting the chassis with the necessary, interchangeable sample block. It should be able to run gradient programs. It must contain a heated cover and have a temperature accuracy of at least +/- 0.30?C. The NAICS Code for this procurement is 334516. All requests for solicitation packages and questions should be directed to Rick Pittman by email at pittman.rick@epa.gov. Any firm who believes it is capable of meeting the EPA?s requirement as stated herein may submit a response which, if received by 26 August 2005, 3:00 PM, eastern daylight savings time, will be considered.
