Description
This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract consisting of a one year and a one-year option to Mitech Consulting, Inc. for continued research and development support for secure adhoc routing protocols. This is a follow-on contract under which NIST has been conducting research and development in the area of secure ad hoc routing protocols for the past two years. This research effort focuses on building software to help provide secure communications in ad hoc networks and to detect malicious activity in ad hoc networks. Towards this end NIST requires research and development support to help design and implement secure ad hoc routing technologies. These technologies can be used by first responders, telecommunication companies, and consumers. The contract will be awarded in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, pursuant to FAR 13.5. Interested persons may identify their interest no later than August 25, 2005. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, all quotations received within ten days of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
