Description

The Social Security Administration, Region II, seeks a contractor to provide all supervision, labor, material, equipment and other related services and supplies to remove existing Air Handling Unit system dampers and furnish and install new Air Handling Unit system dampers (fresh air supply, minimum, return and spill) as required in approximately 25 locations throughout the Joseph P. Addabbo building located in Jamaica, Queens, New York. (a) All new dampers furnished shall meet or exceed the standards set forth by SMACNA (Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association), be manufactured of anodized aluminum, and be of the opposed blade design (rather than parallel). All linkages shall be manufactured with a non-corrosive material, concealed within the frame, constructed of 5/8” x 1/8” aluminum bar. Frame must be constructed of extruded aluminum, minimum thickness of .051”. Blades must be manufactured of extruded aluminum, minimum thickness of .050”. Blade seals on fresh air and minimum air dampers must be constructed with compression jamb seals of stainless steel. Control shaft must be factory installed, ˝” x 6” with outboard support bearings. Each section of the damper must be supplied with a bronze oilite bearing. The solicitation will be issued on approximately August 16, 2005 and may be downloaded from http://www.fedbizopps.gov . The date for a site visit will be contained in the solicitation. This is a 100 percent small business set aside, NAICS code 238220, $12.0 million. This procurement is being conducted under FAR Part 12 - Acquisition of Commercial Items.
