- The Department of Commerce is posting this sources sought announcement to identify Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) businesses that provide general administrative support services on a temporary basis in the Montgomery County, Maryland geographic location. The HUBZone Act of 1997 created the HUBZone Program. The purpose of the HUBZone Program is to provide Federal contracting assistance for qualified small business concerns located in historically underutilized business zones, in an effort to increase employment opportunities, investment, and economic development in those areas (see Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 19.13 available at www.arnet.gov/far). Status as a qualified HUBZone small business concern is determined by the Small Business Administration (SBA) in accordance with 13 CFR part 126. Therefore, interested parties shall submit a copy of certification letters provided by the SBA that validates their HUBZone status and the Government will research the list at www.sba.gov/hubzone to verify the information provided. Interested parties shall also include the following information (1) information regarding their status as a certified small disadvantaged business; (2) information as to whether they hold a GSA Schedule; (3) business information and capabilities; (4) their DUNS number for verification of their registration into the Central Contractor Registration (www.ccr.gov); (5) a description of the levels of General Clerk positions, qualification for each level, and resumes of individuals qualified at the various General Clerk levels they maintain within their organization; (6) interested firm shall indicate their understanding that the services that will be provided may be at a Government facility and may require employees to pass a background check and identify their procedures regarding background and security checks prior to employment of individuals as well as their procedure when violation occur in background investigations; (7) turnover rates in staffing; (8) compliance with the Department of Labor Wage Determination; and, (9) a copy of their published price list or other pricing information. This is a sources sought announcement. There is no solicitation associated with this requirement. Requests for copies of a solicitation will be disregarded. Interested parties shall provide the requested information in three copies to: Department of Commerce, CBS Support Center, 209 Perry Parkway, Suite 5, Gaithersburg, Maryland 20877-2143, ATTN: Linda Shariati (HUBZone). Incomplete information may not be considered. Information will only be accepted in hardcopy and must be received no later than 3:00 pm Eastern Time on August 26, 2005. Email information will be disregarded. No basis for claim against the Government shall arise as a result of a response to this announcement or Government use of any information provided. The Government will not pay for information or comments provided and will not recognize any costs associated with submission of information. There is no solicitation.
