- The purpose of this Sources Sought/Market Research is to identify potential sources capable of enhancing the current 30MM PGU-13 High Explosive Incendiary (HEI) design to provide a ballistic match to the 30MM PGU-14 Armor Piercing Incendiary (API) ca rtridge. The design for the 30MM PGU-13 HEI will be required to meet various performance, design/construction, and testing requirements. These requirements for the 30MM PGU-13 HEI design include but are not limited to: projectile assembly with common 30m m cartridge assembly; cartridge shall meet all performance requirements of the 30MM PGU-15/B specification; equivalent fragmentation and incendiary capability with the current 30MM PGU-13 HEI design; single rotating band; compatibility with GAU-8 and MK-44 weapon systems, loaders and containers; and use of the M505A3 fuze. Testing will be performed to ensure the design meets all requirements. The contractor shall provide the required new drawings and Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) to update the existi ng 30MM PGU-13 HEI to the new design. The design shall not contain proprietary contractor data or manufacturer specific processes as data required to build the improved design shall be owned by the Government. The current technical data package (TDP) for the 30MM PGU-13 HEI is classified Distribution D (Authorized to the Department of Defense and DoD contractors only). WARNING - This document contains technical data whose export is restricted by the Arms Export Control Act, (Title 22, U.S.C., SEC 2751 ET SEQ.) or the Export Administration Act of 1979, (Title 50, U.S.C., APP 2401, ET SEQ) as amended. Violation of these export laws is subject to severe criminal penalties. Disseminate IAW provision of DOD Directive 5230.25. Offerors must be registered with the U.S./Canada Joint Certification Office to obtain a copy of the specification and top drawings (See www.dlis.dla.mil/jcp/ for instructions and information). A respondent to this market survey must have the facilities and skills required to design and test the 30mm PGU-13 HEI cartridge. Interested firms who feel they are capable of this design effort are invited to indicate their interest by providing the Government a brief summary of their companys capabilities, including a brief description of facil ities, personnel and past experience as it relates to the above criteria.
