- JONES CREEK TREE & BRUSH MASTICATION PROJECT. THE SOLICITATION FOR THIS PROJECT WILL BE POSTED ON THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENTS WEBSITE (www.fbo.gov) IN APPROXIMATELY 15 DAYS. This project consists of Mechanically thinning conifers, masticate existing down Boles and brush cutting on 121 acres of plantation. Thinning shall consist of selecting crop trees and mechanically cutting all other trees and brush. Thinning, brush cutting and slash masticating shall be done in a manner that does not damage leave trees that is not specified to be treated. The plantation trees are approximately 27 to 38 years old, were thinned with chainsaws in 2000 and have a current spacing of 8 top 20 feet. Desired spacing is 20 feet. Slopes range from 0% to 30%. Brush species include ceanothus, manzania, sagebrush and bitterbrush. The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies and incidentals to perform the work. Project is located between Reno, Nevada and Incline Village, Nevada, on the Carson Ranger District, Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. NAICS code (North American Industry Classification System): 115310. Size Standard: $6.0 Million. Estimated start date is October 2005, with 30 days for completion.
