Description: The purpose of the exploration is to evaluate the potential for failure of the dam from stress relief joints and gather information for possible repair. Work will include 1) mapping the extent of the fracture system into the left abutment and foundation of Jersey Valley Dam, 2) determining the spacing, width and fill material of the fractures, and 3) determining the range of permeabilities within the bedrock. A combination of angle core drilling to intersect vertical fractures and water pressure testing to determine the range of permeabilities of the rock will be used.
