Description

The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Osteomed Corporation of Addison TX to furnish an Osteomed Power Control Unit with a Series II Low Modular Motor for the Jesse Brown VAMC, Chicago IL. To the best of our knowledge the Osteomed is the only unit, which has the following capabilities: Is 100% modular, (every attachment is powered by a shared motor), runs at a maximum torque output of 7.2inch/ounces when the 1:1 drill is set at high speed (70,000 rpm), uses medial bearings and contains a microprocessor, which permits braking of 70,000 to 0 RPM in 0.1 seconds. Based upon the above this procurement is being conducted in accordance FAR 6.302 - only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. NAICS 339110. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Office within (ten) 10 calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to the Contracting Officer, VAMC-GLAC, Building 5, 5000 W. National Ave. Bldg. 5, Milwaukee WI 53295 or via fax to (414) 902-5440. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Osteomed Corporation.
