- NAICS 334517: NO SOURCES ARE SOUGHT BY THIS NOTICE. THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLICIT ONLY ONE SOURCE. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price contract to J.L. Shepherd and Associates. This sole source contract is for the decommissioning of a current J.L. model irradiator, and the installation and purchase of a newer J.L. model irradiator for the Bollworm International Eradication Program. The proposed contract action is for the aforementioned product for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 6.302-2. J.L. Shepherd and Associates, is the only firm currently mobilized to decommission, supply and install the the newer unit. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct future competitive procurements.
