- Description
- Project Name: Mann Gulch Trail #258 Maintenance and Construction. The Helena National Forest anticipates issuing a Request for Quotation for maintenance and reconstruction of the Mann Gulch Trail. This trail is located 15 miles North of Helena, Montana on I-15. The trailhead can only be accessed by boat on upper Holter Lake. Materials will be transported by barge. The trail can be accessed by going down river for approximately four miles and exiting the river at the Meriwether developed site. The trail is located on the edge of the Gates of the Mountains Wilderness Area. The trail climbs a steep ascent with numerous switchbacks. The project includes rock and log retaining walls, and some trail obliteration. The solicitation will be available on approximately August 1st, 2005 and can be downloaded from this site at that time.
