- This is a solicitation notice for a proposed construction contract for the repair of 5 residential units at several locations in Lakewood, Washington and administered by the American Lake Division of the VA Puget Sound Health Care System. The VA is seeking a general contractor to provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and supervision for the proposed contract. Work will include, but is not limited to, the following: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, various interior finishes. There will be a pre-bid site inspection of the five locations o/a September 8, 2005 at 10 AM in Building 6 Room 226, 9600 Veterans Drive, Puget Sound Health Care System, American Lake Division, Tacoma, WA. The construction cost range is $25,000 to $100,000. Contract completion time will be 90 calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed. The VA anticipates awarding a firm, fixed price contract. This is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business set aside solicitation. The NAICS classification is 236118. The small business size standard is $28.5 million average annual receipts for 3 preceding fiscal years. Construction document bid packages will be available o/a August 26, 2005. As authorized by FAR 5.102(a)(7), solicitation dissemination is limited to electronic medium, and VA will provide no hard copies. The solicitation, consisting of various bid documents, specifications, forms, and drawings will be available for download at no charge at the Washington Buildings Exchange website, http://www.bwxa.com. Bidders are advised that they are responsible for obtaining all bid documents and any amendments, and should re-visit the VA website periodically to look for any updates.
