- Under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1, and utilizing FAR Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures the U.S. Army RDECOM - Natick Contracting Division, Kansas Street, N atick, MA on behalf of the United States Army Soldier System Center, Natick, MA intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a sole source basis with Ashland Distribution Company, 5200 Paul G. Blazer Parkway, Dublin, OH 43017-5309 (Ashland.) This effort is to provide the Government with 46,284 pounds of polymer resins manufactured by E.I. DuPont De Nemours & Co. ( DuPont .) Ashland is the only available source for the polymer resins subject to this acquisition. FAR 6.302-1 permits other than full and open competition if the supplies are available from only one, or a limited number of, responsible sources. The particular typ e of polymer resins subject to this procurement are part of an ongoing project, and have been procured under earlier contracts. Since DuPont polymer resins have been used previously, and this acquisition is part of an ongoing project, DuPont is the only s ource of polymer resins compatible with ongoing project requirements. Ashland Distribution Company is the exclusive local distributor of DuPont polymer resins. As such, Ashland is the only available source for the polymer resins. Therefore, the contract will be awarded to Ashland. Questions concerning this acquisition may be addressed to the above address, Attention: Mr. Richard R.
