- Description
- The U.S. Army - ARDEC is conducting a Market Survey to identifiy sources capable of production of 1,500 each 81mm M879 Mortar shell body practice rounds. It will be made of 1340 steel and will require numerous forging operations for fabrication. In addition a number of milling operations will be required to bore out six vent holes that exist in the forward portion of the shell body. Once machined into final shape, various inspection techniques will be employed to verify the quanlity of this item, in accordance with drawing #1304238, for drawing contact via email epickel@pica.army.mil. Respondent must be capable of delivering the modified M879 Projectile Bodies on or before 10/26/05, it is critical that this delivery scheudle be met. All responsible interested sources are encourged to submit their capabilities/verifications data in regard to the above no later than 29 August 2005 to Commander, U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC, ATTN: AMSTA-AQ-APC, Elinor Pickel, Bldg. 10, Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey 07806-5000.
