Description

***The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Rexel, Inc., in Hunt Valley, MD for the purchase of one (1) Rockwell Automation ControlLogix System, Accessories, a Rockwell Automation Point I/O System, and Rockwell Automation Software.*** ***The Rockwell ControlLogix System and Point I/O System will be used by the NIST, United States Council of Automotive Research (USCAR) Lab with the existing Rockwell Systems at the Industrial Control Security (ISC) Lab. ISC and USCAR, will be working together on projects. All software and equipment must be consistent and compatible to ensure equipment, functionality, and consistency of data. Sole source determination is based on the need for the NIST system to work with the ISC Laboratories existing equipment. Rexel Inc. is the only licensed distributor for NIST?s region. *** ***Delivery shall be FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD, and is required within 60 days after receipt of order.*** ***The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 339111, and the size standard is 500 employees.*** ***No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received by August 31, 2005.*** A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
