- Description
- U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has a requirement for removal and disposal services of all seized and forfeited vehicles, valued at $2,500 or less, along the southern California border. The Contractor will be required to tow, dismantle, salvage, scrap, and destroy all vehicle parts that have Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN). By destroying only the vehicle components with a VIN, the Contractor can recover all other component parts for salvage (sale) and recoup all revenue received from recycling the remaining vehicle scrap. CBP anticipates awarding a no cost contract, as the costs associated with this requirement, should be offset by the potential revenue gained from the sale of all component parts (without VINs) and the remaining scrap metal. This solicitation is set-aside for SMALL BUSINESSES. It is the intent of CBP to award one (1) or more commercial item contracts, with a contract term of a base year and four (4) one-year options, for a total of five (5) years. It is anticipated that solicitation number HSBP1005R0487 will be issued on or about August 19, 2005. CBP intends to hold a pre-proposal conference in the southern California area. The solicitation will be distributed through the General Services Administration (GSA) Electronic Posting System (EPS) web site: http://www.eps.gov. The EPS provides downloading instructions. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be issued. Therefore, telephone, written or e-mail requests for a hard copy of the solicitation will not be accepted. All future information about this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will be issued solely through the EPS site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the EPS web site to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about the acquisition. Any questions should be emailed to the Contracting Officer. NOTE: THIS NOTICE MAY HAVE POSTED ON WWW.FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (22-JUL-2005).
