Description

This is combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will NOT be issued. Solicitation number HC1047-05-T-4037 is hereby issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 334111. Business size standard is 500 employees. This will be a firm fixed price order and will be awarded utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Therefore, this procurement has been designated as a small business set-aside (SBSA). See numbered note #1. The Government will award a purchase order resulting from this solicitation on the basis of price and delivery. Delivery shall be no later than 30 days after receipt of order (ARO). FOB destination Pentagon Remote Delivery Facility, Washington Blvd, Arlington, VA. Offerors shall provide information as stated in the representations and certification at provision FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items, and DFARS 252.212-7000, Offeror Repre-sentations and Certifications-Commercial Items. DFARS 252.204-7004, Required Central Contractor Registration applies to this procurement. These provisions may be found at http://farsite.hill.af.mil. To be considered for award offerors must be properly registered in the Central Contractor Registration at http://www.ccr.gov. All responsible interested parties should provide a quote by email to the contracting officer at Nancy.McClain@disa.mil not later than 0500 hours eastern time 29 August 2005. No telephonic responses to this synopsis/RFQ will be accepted. No additional synopsis or solicitation will be issued. The Defense Information Systems Agency intends to issue one award for the purchase of all items of equipment and service. ALL ITEMS MUST BE QUOTED, OR THE QUOTE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. Price quotes must be in tabular format with each lot totaled and the entire quote totaled. DISA requires 3 each Search Appliances with the eighteen (18) capabilities listed below. Market research shows that the Google Search Appliance GB-1001 provides these capabilities. Any other product that is equal to the Google Search Appliance GB-1001 may be offered, and if it meets these capabilities it will be considered. List of required capabilities: (1) Supports SNMP monitoring and able to provide reports to display usage statistics and content analysis; (2) Supports a document count of 1,000,000 with the ability to expand; (3) Supports unlimited end user connections; (4) Web-based administrator console; (5) Access control to protect secure content; (6) Allows search strings using the natural language and Boolean expressions; (7) Real-time, intelligent crawling to keep content refreshed; (8) Built-in RAID support for data redundancy; (9) Support for searching content from relational databases; (10) Allows content feeds from other products; (11) Segments documents and filters customizing search results for various audiences; (12) Easy-to-use, customizable end user interface; (13) Built-in spell check capability; (14) Performs intelligent grouping of search results, highlighting of search terms in the results, viewing as HTML, synonyms, and date sorting to aid in navigation; (15) Searches across files archived/compressed using native UNIX archive and compression tools (tar, compress, cpio, etc), gnu compression tools (gzip, gtar, etc), and standard windows compression tools (zip); (16) Searches across all common file types (including HTML, Microsoft Office, PDF, PostScript, etc); (17) Customizes searches using standard, not-proprietary languages, such as SQL, java, pearl, etc; and (18) 24/7 support.
