DESC: INTENT TO ISSUE A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT TO AVIONICS INSTRUMENTS UNDER AUTHORITY OF FAR 6.302. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however; the Government will consider all proposals received within 7 days after date of publication of this synopsis but no later than 29 August 2005, at 1200 EST. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered procurement sensitive. SCOPE OF WORK. The United States Air Force (USAF) employs frequency converters in its patient air-evacuation missions to convert the power generated by an aircraft into usable power by our medical equipment that accompanies patients during an air-evacuation. Periodically, these frequency converters break down and require repair. Contractor shall provide inspection and maintenance services required to repair Government owned frequency converters on an as-required basis. The Contractor shall conduct the repairs at their facility (to be designated by Contractor within the Continental United States), and then ship to an Air Force (AF) facility as designated at the time of repair. Shipment of the frequency converters to and from the Contractor?s repair facility shall be at Government expense. Performance shall be according to the requirements contained in this performance work statement (PWS). Currently 33 frequency converters are in need of servicing. SPECIFIC PROCEDURES FOR WHICH THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE. General inspection, maintenance, and repair of frequency converters to meet current Aeromedical flight certification currently including Stock Numbers 6130-01-433-3718 and 6130NCM040691, manufactured by Avionics Instruments, Model Numbers 4B3500-1A-MV-735 and 4B3500-1A-MV-1564. No solicitation document exists and no telephone inquiries will be accepted. No contract award will be made on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. Interested parties shall furnish detailed data concerning their capabilities to provide the services sought including pricing data and technical data sufficient enough to determine that a comparable source to the government is available to the Contracting Officer NLT 29 August, 2005; otherwise an order will be placed with the above named contractor. The Government will be the sole determiner regarding an offeror?s ability to meet the requirements.
