Description
This is not a solicitation announcement, but rather a request for sources sought. The CECOM Acquisition Center Southwest, located at Fort Huachuca, AZ is seeking input from potential sources relative to the following requirement. Requirement: There is a potential requirement for the use of GSM/TDMA minicells to interface with small end office (SMEO) digital switches currently being programmed for support of US Forces deployed in the Southwest Asia (SWA) area of operations (AO). The systems will require joint interoperability certification as a PBX1 (threshold) or PBX2 (objective) for access through a Meridian 81C, Avaya Definity G3I/G3SCI or REDCOM IGX class SMEO. The system must be or capable of being certified by the Joint Int eroperability Test Center (JITC) IAW the GSCR criteria. The Requirements Matrix may be found at the TSSI (Telecom Switched Services Interoperability) Project Menu under the Requirements and Testing Documents at Appendix 1 of the Generic Switching Center R equirements (GSCR) at the following URL: http://jitc.fhu.disa.mil/tssi/index.html. The GSM system requires certification because it will be a gateway for its subscribers to access the Defense Systems Network (DSN). The vendor shall respond, in table format (posted with Synopsis), on the ability of their device(s) not met, partially m et, met or exceeded the requisite PBX2 and PBX1 criteria. The minicell gateway should operate at a minimum in the 1.8 Gigahertz GSM frequency allocation and be capable of approximately 100 simultaneous calls and service about 500 subscribers with approxi mately 100 of those with a secure capability. The area of coverage should be nominally 2.5 kilometers by 5 kilometers. Additionally, the GSM system should be capable of passing data in order to be compatible with expected user devices (e.g. Blackberry, o r other GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) capable devices). The information being sought includes the capabilities of the systems, generic deployment scenario, and the status of any certification actions and can the system meet the objective certificati on requirement. The time to respond (ARO) if a requirement comes to fruition and the ability to travel and work in the overseas environment. Potential vendors with the capability or means to satisfy the requirement, and provide installation and technical support services are invited to submit sufficient information that demonstrates their ability to satisfy the requirement. The required table format is located at https://abop.monmouth.army.mil/ and can be found under this solicitation number. Responses, including the potential vendors business status (e.g.: small, large, 8(a), Hub Zone, DAV Owned, etc.), completed spreadsheet and information regarding any master contract vehicles potential vendors may have, should be emailed to the following address: t erri.harrison@us.army.mil. Capability statements shall be submitted no later than 08 September 2005. Any questions or concerns, please contact the Contract Specialist, Terri Harrison, at 520-538-0627.
