Description
The Bureau of Reclamation, Lower Colorado Region, Hoover Dam, Boulder City, Nevada, has a requirement for polyurethane foam roof repair at Bay A and C, Mead complex, at the end of Buchanan Blvd., past the Veterans Cemetery in Boulder City, NV 89005. STATEMENT OF WORK POLYURETHANE FOAM ROOF BAY A and C MEAD COMPLEX BOULDER CITY, NEVADA GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The roof on Bay A and C of the Mead Complex requires repair. The present roof consists of metal, composite, tar, and gravel with walking pads. The roof shall be repaired by a polyurethane foam coating with a protective coating. Square footing on Bay A is 10,000 square feet and the square footing on Bay C is 9,800 square feet. SCOPE OF WORK: Site Visit: Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Mead Complex, Boulder City, Nevada Remove all non embedded gravel or material by means of stiff brooms, spud bars, and blowers. All gravel shall be hauled away. Remove excess amounts of cold application materials that may be present in puddles or mounds. Examine existing roofing materials to make sure moisture does not exist. Blisters shall be cut and nailed or removed. Loose sections shall be mechanically fastened using staples, screws, or nails of type and size capable of fastening existing roof to deck. If primer is needed to achieve good adhesion, contractor shall use primer at his discretion and as suggested by foam manufacturer. Polyurethane foam shall be 1" + or 1/4" except where variations are required for drainage or to complete a feathered edge. The minimum in-place density shall be in the range of 2.5 to 3.2 lbs. per cubic foot. Re-roof under all roof units; apply foam, and coatings to ducts. Protective Coating shall be applied over the polyurethane foam surfaces in accordance with manufacturer instructions. Some edge and detail work may be applied with a roller. Coating shall be applied to achieve a dry mil thickness of 38 mils + or 5 dry mil thickness. Repair fallen stucco areas with polyurethane foam. Remove all material around roof drains down to roof deck. Roofing work performed shall be left waterproof at the end of each work day. Contractor is to ensure proper drainage with foam crickets and build up in low areas. Walking paths are to be added where needed. Excess trash and debris shall be removed from the premises. The guarantee for this roof system is for 10 years. PLACE OF PERFORMANCE: Mead Complex, at the end of Buchanan Blvd., past the Veterans Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: Work to be completed by October 13, 2005. It is anticipated that a Request for Quote (RFQ) will be issued on or about August 25, 2005, and awarded on or about September 17, 2005; however, all dates in the announcement are subject to change. The RFQ will be issued via http://ideasec.nbc.gov. A Request for Quote is being issued to facilitate submittal of quotes through electronic commerce, and to view all applicable clauses and attachments. This requirement is being procured under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and is set aside for small businesses. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) code is 238160, and the size standard is $12,000,000.00. Prospective vendors must be registered in the Central Contractor Register (CCR) prior to the award of a contract. Lack of registration in the CCR database will make an offeror ineligible for award.
