Description
The purpose of this modification to BAA 05-38 is to add the following security-related information. Barrier Reversibility: The Reversible Barrier Program (ReBar) is a new initiative by the DARPA Special Projects Office (SPO) to develop light-weight, quickly-deployable, and rapidly reversible barriers for both inside and outside use. The basis for the final reversibility approach allowing US and allied forces to remove the barriers will be CLASSIFIED. As such, all reversing mechanisms proposed ? regardless of technology or methodology ? must be submitted separately as an annex to the barrier technology proposal using the guidance detailed in DARPA SPO BAA 05-38 Reversible Barriers Proposer Information Pamphlet (PIP) Section 9.5 - Submission Process Collateral Classified Information. The CLASSIFIED reversibility portion of the proposal will be no longer than 10 pages in length, and will not be counted against the Barrier proposal 20-page count. Foldouts are counted as a single page and must be no larger than 11 x 17 inches with no more than 3 foldouts allowed in the annex. Only the first 10 pages of Reversibility proposals will be evaluated. Proposals with fewer than the maximum number of pages are highly encouraged. Clarity in describing the work to be carried out will be used during the evaluation process as an important indicator of the ability of the proposer to plan and carry out the work.
