Description
1. The following questions and answers are hereby provided regarding the subject solicitation: Q - Will all wiring, equipment, lighting fixtures, false bulkheads, and insulation on the vessel be removed? A – The Coast Guard will attempt to remove most interferences. There will always be some interferences that cannot be removed and the Contractor will have to install protective coverings. Q – Will the vessel be in a drydock or moored at a pier? A – The vessel will be moored at the pier. Q – In compartment 1-3-0-Q, the galley, will all the cooking equipment and food preparation equipment be removed, such as cabinets, range, ovens, steam cabinets, steam kettles, meat slicer, sinks and work tables? A – All the listed equipment will be removed. Q – In compartment 1-81-2-1, Medical Treatment Room, will all the examination tables, cabinets, desks, lockers, sinks, and A/C unit be removed? A – All the listed equipment will be removed. Q – Is the USCG going to do the painting or the contractor? A – The Coast Guard Yard will be applying all coatings. Q – Is 44- volt, 3 phase at 100 amps available from the base to operate vacuum units? A – No. The Contractor will have to supply all its own electrical needs. Q – After filtering the effluent water and a TCLP testing of same and found to be non-hazardous may the contractor place this spent water down the facility’s sanitary sewer? A – It would be the responsibility of the Contractor to contact the Park Supervisor at 860-444-7591, ext. 104 to discuss this issue. 2. The date and time set for receipt of quotations remains unchanged.
