Description
The US Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, intends to award a contract to repair stoplogs at The Dalles Dam Spillway, The Dalles, Oregon. During a recent hydraulic steel gate inspection at the Dalles Dam, the Spillway Stoplogs were found to h ave significant weld flaws that require further investigation and possible repair. The repairs will consist of removing and replacing the majority of the fracture critical full penetration welds in the tension chord of the truss members. The repair shall be done according to AWS D1.1 table 6.2 for statically loaded tension welds. The repaired welds will need to pass 100% ultrasonic testing before bei ng accepted by the Government. The Dalles crane can assist in placing each of the ten (10), 24,000 lb spillway stoplogs onto the Contractors trucks, where the Contractor will transport the spillway stoplogs off site to an AISC certified structural fabric ation shop and repair them. Once repairs are made, the Contractor shall paint the repaired area of each spillway stoplogs with a vinyl paint system and transport the spillway stoplogs back to the Project site. The current paint system contains a lead bas e primer. This procurement is open to both small and large business concerns.
