Description
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) Office of Research and Development, National Environmental Research Laboratory, Ecosystems Research Division (ORD/NERL/ERD) is soliciting quotations for a refrigerated incubator using Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Commercial Items. The refrigerated incubator will be used to maintain soil samples, inoculated with test material for later extraction and analysis, at constant conditions of temperature and exposure to light. Soil samples will be contained in 250 mL centrifuge tubes, with screw-septum tops. Minimum specifications for the unit follows: approximate size of unit 24 cubic feet. The incubator unit must maintain temperature with uniformity inside the chamber of +/- 1.0 deg C at room temperature. Desired temperature range is 4 ? 60 deg C. The unit must have the capability to be remotely monitored. It must have an alarm mechanism to alert laboratory personnel when desired conditions are not met. Shelving inside the unit shall be adjustable in 1? increments and unit shall come complete with minimum of 9 shelves each capable of supporting 250 pounds. Unit shall come complete with microprocessor readout and control functions which will allow real time monitoring, adjustment, locking, and logging of temperature data. Unit shall be easily movable with 3? ? 5? locking wheels. Unit door shall be lockable for security purposes. Power supply shall be 115/60/1 phase ? 15 amp. The unit will be delivered to the EPA ERD in Athens, Georgia. The NAICS code for this procurement is 334516.
