- The Social Security Administration intends to negotiate solely with GT Software, 1314 Spring Street NW, Atlanta, GA, under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13.106-1 (b) (1) as the Contracting Officer has determined that the circumstances of the contract deem only one source reasonably available. BMS/GT? is a powerful 3270 screen map generator. This dynamic tool lets you produce and manipulate application maps fast. It creates a final product which is not only tailored to the needs of the end-users, but able to change with their demands. BMS/GT software is used by SSA?s technical staff as a map generator tool to develop the entire CICS screen maps for mission critical application software systems. It is used by SEF to design and test screens and or large application systems that are released to field offices as well as service centers. This software provides maps behind the application program to scan entered data evaluate this data and respond to errors. The vendor (GT Software), owns all proprietary rights to the software?s source codes, along with the only source capable of providing maintenance support, upgrades, updates and fixes. The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed purchase order for all future maintenance and software license upgrades. Other organizations possessing the requisite expertise and resources are invited to submit information concerning their capabilities, expertise, and other pertinent data. Pricing may be submitted. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill this requirement. This is not a request for quotation and the Government does not intend to pay for information received. If SSA does not identify other acceptable sources capable of providing the software maintenance and relevant upgrades, SSA shall issue a sole source award under FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Responses to this notice should be submitted by September 13th, 2005. Request for copies of a solicitation will not be honored or acknowledged. Oral communications are not acceptable.
