Description

US Customs & Border Protection intends to negotiate a sole source contract under FAR 6.302-1 with E.J. Brooks Co., Livingston, NJ, for a patented high security mechanical seal meeting the specifications of International Standardization Organization Publicly Available Specification 17712 (ISO/PAS 17712). The 2-part seal consists of a metal bolt and locking case with engraving. Materials must be durable, able to withstand prolonged exposure to the sun, salt spray, and both hot and cold weather, remaining intact. Secure internal manufacturing and storage controls also required. Approximately 300,000 to 1,000,000 seals will be required with a delivery of 8 months or less, with first 10,000 seals to be delivered within 30 days after award of contract. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement within seven calendar days after publication of this notice. This is not a request for competitive proposals; no solicitation is available. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Delivery of completed items will be made to a Northern Virginia location.
