- Description
- This amendment is issued to respond to the folloiwng question: In regards to Question 1: I am checking with you to see if you need a separate Stand Alone Heavy Level IV plate. Or, do you need the inconjuction with plate. This means...you wear the plate with soft body armor to achieve Level IV protection. ( This is the most common ). It is also lighter. Response: These plates will be used in a Level III vest to achieve Level IV protection. If you demand a Level III vest for the SAPI this could be problematic since a Level III vest is not a soft vest. This Level III vest also contains plates. The soft vest is Level IIIA with pockets for inserting the SAPI panels. It would seem more logical that the Level IV SAPI require a Level IIIA vest. Response: The response is changed to read these plates will be used with a Level IIIA vest to provide Level IV protection. Ceramic, lightweight plates are needed. Fronts only. The due date is changed to 9/6/05 at 1:00pm. If a response has been submitted please respond with revised quotations.
