Description

IBET Acquisitions anticipates awarding a non-competitive contract to Biological Mediation Systems (Ft. Collins, CO) to furnish and install a pre-fabricated, two-unit evaporator vault toilet at Logan Shoals Vista recreation site on the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit. The pre-fabricated unit is a restroom facility with a human waste vault evaporator system. The vault evaporator is powered by solar photovoltaic systems installed on the roof of the restroom building. The unit is a pre-engineered and pre-manufactured, including vault evaporator system, building with all finish interior furnishings, hardware and siding, plumbing, fixtures, and wiring. The system consists of a vented, evaporative holding vault which decreases the frequency of pumping by more than 50% and eliminates odors. The Biological Mediation Systems evaporator vault is a patented system which is the only known maker of its kind for vault toilets. Originally other vault toilet manufacturers were considered. The other known manufacturers' toilets require traditional pumping, which is less effective at the high-use Logan Shoals Vista recreation site, which receives approximately 50,000 visitors during the summer tourist season. Vendors believing that they can meet this requirement must submit written information showing clearly that the unit proposed meets or exceeds the specifications and performance of the Biological Mediation Systems' unit. Also include estimated cost for any proposed unit, including installation. All information must be received no later than 2:00 pm PT on September 9, 2005.
