- The VA Medical Center in Cincinnati, OH intends to negotiate a commercial (FAR Part 13) sole source contract with Datex-Ohmeda P.O. Box 7550, Madison, WI 53707-7550 under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. NAICS: 339112. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. A justification for other than full and open competition is being prepared in support of this acquisition. Datex-Ohmeda shall provide 2 Aestiva/5 7900 Anesthesia Machines which includes configuration kit, ventilator hardware, 7900 software and manuals, factory installed SIMV-PSV PRO upgrade, vaporizer configuration, and many more other accessories. The delivery terms shall be FOB Destination to VA Medical Center Cincinnati, OH 3200 Vine Street, Cincinnati, OH 45220. The Datex-Ohmeda is a unique and valuable advanced monitoring and anesthesia delivery capabilities. It has a System Solution which Comprehensively integrates patient monitoring anesthesia delivery, ventilation and information management systems. It has a higher level of connectivity than merely interfacing. Datex-Ohmeda System 5 monitors multiple physiological systems, heart, lungs, gut and brain. The monitor integrates diagnostic cardiac, hemodynamic respiratory, metabolic, nutritional assessment, neuromuscular, gastric tonometry and anesthetic agent monitoring into a single bedside system. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes, however; any firm that believes that it can meet the specifications above may give written notification to the Contracting Officer, within seven (7) days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to the above listed address or via fax to (513) 475-6334. ELECTRONCIC VERSIONS OF PROPOSALS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE. Responses received will be evaluated, however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the VA will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Datex-Ohmeda. Solicitation RFP 539-40-05 to be released by mail on or about September 09, 2005.
